COVID-19 Outbreaks Declared at Lee Manor
Update May 29, 8:30 a.m.
We are pleased to report that the COVID-19 outbreak on the 1 South and 2 South home areas at Lee Manor have been declared over. The diligence and commitment of our team members, along with the support from our designated care partners and families was truly impactful as we managed the outbreaks. The strength of our community is outstanding, and we are grateful for the impact each member has on the health, safety, and wellbeing of our residents. Grey Bruce Public Health were vital partners in the management of the outbreak, and we are thankful for their support and hard work.
The 3 North home area remains in outbreak, and the following protocols remain in place:
- Enhanced monitoring for new symptoms in all residents and staff, and weekly infection prevention and control audits, along with additional Hand Hygiene Audits on all home areas.
- Staff are wearing N95 masks, eye protection and additional PPE on 3 North.
- Designated Care Partners (DCP) are reduced to one (1) DCP per resident visit on 3 North. DCPs are required to wear their N95 mask at all times.
- General visits remain suspended on 3 North.
Update May 18, 4:30 p.m.
We are pleased to report that the COVID-19 outbreak on the 2 North home area at Lee Manor has been declared over. We thank our team members for their continued dedication to the safety and well-being of our residents. We truly appreciate the support from our designated care partners and families and are thankful for the assistance of Grey Bruce Public Health in managing the outbreak.
The team at Lee Manor continues their dedication and commitment with managing the COVID-19 outbreaks, and outbreak protocols remain in place for the following:
- 1 South Home Area
- 2 South Home Area
- 3 North Home Area
The following enhanced infection control protocols are in place:
- All symptomatic residents and close contacts are isolating, receiving care, and in-room meal service is being provided.
- Enhanced monitoring for new symptoms in all residents and staff, and weekly infection prevention and control audits, along with additional Hand Hygiene Audits on all home areas.
- All staff are wearing N95 masks, eye protection and additional PPE on all home areas.
- Designated Care Partners (DCP) are reduced to one (1) DCP per resident visit on all home areas except for 2 North and 3 South. DCPs are required to wear their N95 mask at all times.
- General visits are suspended on all home areas except for the 2 North and 3 South home areas.
- HEPA filter units have been strategically placed on the home areas to maximize air quality.

The suspect COVID-19 outbreak on the 2 South home area is now a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak. We are dealing with a highly transmissible variant, and we continue to work closely with our partners in Public Health to manage the outbreaks. We have the following to share:
1 South Home Area
The 1 South home area remains in a COVID-19 Outbreak.
2 South Home Area
Public Health has upgraded the suspect COVID-19 outbreak to a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak with 2 confirmed positive resident cases.
2 North Home Area
The 2 North home area remains in COVID-19 Outbreak.
3 North Home Area
The 3 North home area remains in a COVID-19 Outbreak.
3 South Home Area
There are no suspected or confirmed outbreaks on the home area. The team continues to monitor residents closely.

Over the weekend, there have been additional residents experiencing respiratory symptoms. We have the following to share:
1 South Home Area
The 1 South home area remains in COVID-19 Outbreak.
2 South Home Area
There are two residents on the 2 South home area experiencing symptoms, and Public Health has declared a suspect COVID-19 outbreak.
2 North Home Area
The 2 North home area remains in active COVID-19 Outbreak.
3 North Home Area
There are two additional resident cases and Public Health has upgraded the suspect COVID-19 outbreak to a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak with a total for four resident cases.
3 South Home Area
There are no suspected or confirmed outbreaks in the home area. We continue to monitor residents closely.

Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the 1 South home area. There are seven residents that are experiencing respiratory symptoms, and five rapid antigen test results that have returned positive for COVID-19, with two results pending. The 2 North home area remains in a COVID-19 outbreak, and the 3 North home area continues to be in a suspect COVID-19 outbreak. All symptomatic residents and close contacts are isolating, receiving care, and in room meal service is being provided.
We are working closely with Public Health and monitoring the situation closely, and the following enhanced infection control protocols are in place:

- Designated Care Partners (DCP) are now reduced to one (1) DCP per resident visit on 1 South and 2 North and for those in isolation on the 3 North home area. DCPs are required to wear their mask at all times.

On May 3, Public Health declared a suspect COVID-19 outbreak on the 3 North home area. There are currently four resident cases, and families were notified. Today, Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the 2 North home area. There are currently 11 resident rapid antigen test results that have returned positive for COVID-19. All symptomatic residents and close contacts are isolating, receiving care, and in room meal service is being provided.
Enhanced infection control protocols are in place as we take swift action to halt the spread of the virus. We are working closely with our Public Health partners, and the safety and wellbeing of our residents and staff is our highest priority.
In response, we are taking the following steps:
- Enhanced monitoring for new symptoms in all residents and staff in the outbreak areas.
- Weekly infection prevention and control audits, and additional Hand Hygiene Audits.
- All staff are wearing N95 masks, eye protection and additional PPE as required on the affected home area.
- Designated Care Partners (DCP) are now reduced to one (1) DCP per resident visit on 2 North and for those in isolation on the 3 North home area, and are required to wear their mask at all times.
- General visits are suspended on the 2 North home area.
- HEPA filter units have been strategically placed on both home areas to maximize air quality.
