Climate Resilient Grey
Grey County needs to be resilient to the impacts of climate change. Grey County is developing a community-wide climate adaptation plan. This plan will identify how climate change is impacting our region, which infrastructure and services that will be most impacted, and prioritized actions to mitigate impacts and increase community resilience.


Official Plan Amendment 23
The Grey County Official Plan was approved by the province on June 6, 2019 and came into effect on June 7, 2019. The County is proposing some changes to the County’s Rural permitted uses and development policies to clarify these policies via Official Plan Amendment (OPA) # 23.


Centralized Planning Service Delivery Model
On Thursday, August 8, 2024, all nine Grey County member municipalities met to discuss a potential shared services model for the delivery of planning services. The proposed service model would see local planning staff join a reorganized Grey County planning department.


Archaeological Management Plan
Grey County has engaged TMHC Inc. to support County staff in creating an Archaeological Management Plan. This plan will support the county’s long-term identification, evaluation and protection of archaeological sites.

Future Ready Grey Metrics
The Future Ready Grey Metrics project (initially called the Tri-Country Green Development Standards (GDS) project) is a collaborative initiative between Grey, Dufferin, and Wellington Counties to create consistent metric frameworks that are informed by best practices, existing building credential programs, and local input from municipalities, industry, and residents.
