Alpha Street Revitalization
The Alpha Street housing community in Owen Sound is one of Grey County’s largest affordable housing properties. Originally built in the 1969, the homes were showing their age.
In 2015, Grey County committed to revitalizing Alpha Street through a variety of projects. In total, more than $1 million has been invested into the units and property to ensure many more families and singles can continue enjoying safe and affordable housing for years to come. An additional $475,000 was received from the Social Housing Improvement program from the Province. This money was put towards new roofs.

Grey County is also working towards bring free Wi-Fi to the 68 households too ensure residents and children living at Alpha Street have access to online opportunities to learn and succeed.
