Grey Road 19 and 21 Improvements

Grey County, in collaboration with Simcoe County and the Town of the Blue Mountains, are preparing to make upgrades to the Grey Road 19/21 corridor between the Town of Collingwood and Blue Mountain Village. Upgrades will improve traffic flow between Blue Mountain Village and the Town of Collingwood.

The proposed project could include:

  1. The creation of two roundabouts - Intersection of Grey Road 19/Mountain Road and Grey Road 21, and at Grey Road 19 and Crosswinds Boulevard.
  2. Widening of Grey Road 21/Mountain Road

Background

Grey Road 19 is the main access route between the Town of Collingwood and Blue Mountain Resort and is experiencing a significant rise in traffic. The area is also seeing rapid residential development and the area continues to be an economic hub for tourism. Traffic is expected to continue rising.

Since 2011, Grey County has been studying the issues in the area to improve the corridor. Using the findings of these studies, several improvements are planned to improve traffic flow and safety along the busy Grey Road 19. The project will require multiple years to complete and will include various studies and opportunities for public engagement.
