COVID-19 Outbreak declared OVER on Valley View and Maple Lane at Grey Gables

The COVID-19 outbreak on the Valley View home area at Grey Gables has been declared over. We appreciate our community of families, visitors, residents, and staff. Grey Bruce Public Health were valuable contributors to the management of the outbreak, and we are thankful for their support.
November 29
Public Health has declared the COVID-19 outbreak over on the Maple Lane home area at Grey Gables.
November 20
Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Maple Lane home area at Grey Gables. There are currently three positive resident cases. They are isolating and receiving care. Roommates and high-risk contacts are also in isolation and being closely monitored. As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place for the Valley View home area.
The safety and wellbeing of our residents, families, and staff is our focus. To manage the outbreaks, the following measures are in place:
- Increased surveillance and enhanced infection prevention and control measures.
- Infection prevention and control audits, and hand hygiene audits.
- All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate PPE as required.
- All staff and visitors are required to wear N95 masks and eye protection on Maple Lane and Valley View.
- General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on Maple Lane and Valley View.
- Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner.

On November 18th, Public Health declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Valley View home area at Grey Gables. There are currently five positive resident cases. They are isolating and receiving care. Roommates and high-risk contacts are also in isolation and being closely monitored.
We are working with our Public Health partners to continually assess the situation. Enhanced infection control protocols are in place as we take swift action to halt the spread of the virus. The following actions have been implemented:
- Increased surveillance and enhanced infection prevention and control measures.
- Infection prevention and control audits, and hand hygiene audits.
- All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate PPE as required.
- All staff and visitors on the Valley View home area are required to wear N95 masks and eye protection. Universal masking (surgical mask) is required for all staff and visitors on the other home areas.
- General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on Valley View.
- Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner.
