COVID-19 Outbreak Ended for Pine Ridge Home Area Grey Gables
Update: The outbreak has been declared over by Public Health on December 13.
Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on the Pine Ridge home area at Grey Gables. There are currently two positive resident cases. They are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are also in isolation and being closely monitored.
The safety and wellbeing of our residents, families, and staff is our focus. To manage the outbreaks, the following measures are in place:
- Increased surveillance and enhanced infection prevention and control measures.
- Infection prevention and control audits, and hand hygiene audits.
- All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate PPE as required.
- All staff and visitors are required to wear N95 masks and eye protection on Pine Ridge. Universal masking with a surgical mask is required for all staff and visitors on the other home areas.
- General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on Pine Ridge.
- Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner.
