February 24 Meeting Highlights
Grey County Council met on February 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m in the Council Chamber and virtually through Zoom. The meeting was immediately followed by a session of Committee of the Whole. Recordings of the meetings can be found on Grey County’s YouTube Channel.
County Council
- Council accepted the minutes of the February 10, 2022 County Council and Committee of the Whole Meeting. Council Committee
- Council accepted the minutes of the Grey County Official Plan Amendment Public Meeting held February 3, 2022. Minutes
- Council approved the minutes of the December 17 Board of Health meeting. Council heard a verbal update from Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra. He noted Grey Bruce is in a favourable position as provincial restrictions are lifted. Minutes
Committee of the Whole
- County Council approved the Grey County Age-Friendly Community Strategy and Action plan. Nadia De Santi of WSP Consulting and County Planner Stephanie Lacey-Avon presented the strategy, which has a vision of creating a community that is inclusive of people of all ages and allows everyone to participate in all stages of life. - Council received a presentation from David Morris and May Ip of Welcoming Communities Grey Bruce. The organization assists newcomers in settling in our area. Presentation
- Council received an update on the Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership. Report
- Grey County is exploring the possibility of delegating certain planning approval authorities to local member municipalities. Staff presented a report outlining how municipalities could request this authority and how it could impact service levels.
- Council discussed possible delegations for the upcoming Ontario Good Roads Association conference. Report
- Council received the 2021 Year-end Transfer report and approved directing the estimated $363,000 surplus to reserves. Report
