Grey Roots Museum & Archives Announces Temporary Winter Closure
Grey County - Grey Roots Museum & Archives will be temporarily closed beginning January 7, 2024, with a planned reopening date of Friday, February 9, 2024.
Grey Roots celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2024. The month-long closure will allow museum staff to focus on preparations for celebratory activities in honour of the significant milestone.
Throughout the closure, Grey Roots Museum & Archives remains committed to fostering community engagement through in-person and online offerings.
Education programs and private group tours continue to be available throughout the closure, and researchers may schedule research sessions with the Archives. These activities can be booked at greyroots.com.
Other online offerings are available to the public throughout the closure, including select lectures from Grey Roots’ popular Lecture Series on the Grey Roots YouTube channel, and several virtual exhibits at greyroots.com. Active Grey Roots members impacted by the closure will have their memberships extended by the duration of the closure.
“This closure will allow staff to focus on behind-the scenes work and celebration preparations while maintaining many of our public offerings,” says Zak Erb, Public Relations Coordinator.
Grey Roots Museum & Archives will reopen to the public on Friday, February 9, 2024, and looks forward to welcoming visitors back for events, exhibits, and programs. Visit greyroots.com to learn more about what’s on, including Lunar New Year celebrations on February 10.
