July 11 Meeting Highlights
Grey County Council met on July 11, 2024, in the Council Chamber and virtually on Zoom. The meeting was immediately followed by a session of Committee of the Whole. Recordings of the meetings can be found on Grey County’s YouTube Channel.
County Council
- Council accepted the minutes of the June 27 Grey County Council and Committee of the Whole meetings. Council Committee
- Council received the minutes of the May 24 Board of Health Meeting. Minutes
- Council deferred a by-law regarding tree marking services with Grey Sauble Conservation Authority. The item will be discussed at the August 8 meeting to allow the Grey Sauble Board to discuss the matter at their next meeting on July 24. By-Law
Committee of the Whole
- Council received the year four update on the Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership program (GBLIP). GBLIP is a partnership with Bruce County. The initiative supports community partnerships and fosters welcoming communities. GBLIP has three active subcommittees focusing on employment, belonging and community. Several accomplishments were highlighted in the report including an immigrant survey, the equity diversity and inclusion trainer project, and more. Report
- Council received a report highlighting results of the 2023 Immigrant Survey. The survey was completed by GBLIP for the first time last year, alongside 12 other LIP programs across Canada. 120 immigrants participated in the Grey Bruce survey and shared a wide variety of positive and negative experiences. - Grey County will negotiate expiring mortgage funding agreements with non-profit housing providers. The new agreements will protect local non-profit housing supply and sustainability. Report
