Labour disruption may impact Grey County road maintenance

Grey County Transportation Services employees represented by CUPE Local 1530 are currently without a collective agreement and will be in a legal lockout/strike position on Thursday, November 8, 2018.

Grey County is taking steps to ensure County roads remain safe in the event of a work stoppage. Minimum maintenance standards will continue to be met; however, travelers may notice a reduction in service levels. For the most current road condition information, please go to https://roads.grey.ca/.

Grey County values the work of transportation staff and remains positive that an agreement can be reached. The offer to CUPE members is the same monetary offer given to more than 680 unionized employees in other Grey County services.

Grey County will provide updates about the negotiations on its website, www.grey.ca as the situation progresses.
