Updated: On November 26, Grey Bruce Public Health declared the COVID-19 Outbreak on 1 South Home Area over.
Grey Bruce Public Health were valuable contributors to the management of the outbreak, and we are thankful for their support. Each outbreak showcases the resiliency and commitment of our team members, and we appreciate our remarkable community of families, visitors, and residents.
Enhanced masking measures (universal masking - surgical mask) remain in place for non-outbreak situations. All staff, students, support workers, and volunteers are required to wear a mask when in resident areas indoors. We support the Chief Medical Officer of Health recommendation and we strongly encourage visitors and caregivers wear a mask in resident areas indoors except when with a resident in the resident's room or when eating or drinking with a resident in communal spaces. Masks will be available upon entering the home.
The safety of our residents, families, and staff remains our primary focus, and we will continue with regular infection prevention and control audits and hand hygiene audits. As a reminder, please refrain from visiting the home if you are feeling unwell. If you require additional information, please contact the home at 519-376-4420.
