Long-term care spring leadership training focuses on inclusion and belonging

On April 28, 2023, staff members from Grey County Long-term care and supporting departments came together with community partners for a spring leadership training day. The training brought together staff members from all three Grey County long-term care homes and focused on promoting respectful workplace relationships through equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

The training featured presentations from Tee Garnett Providence International EDI Consulting, Grey Bruce Seniors Pride Group, and Grey Bruce Local Immigration Partnership. The presenters provided guidance on fostering welcoming, safe, and inclusive environments in the homes, both for the people who live there and the people who work there.

The foundation of all care and service in long-term care is "Colouring It Your Way”: a commitment to enriching the daily quality of life for residents by providing exceptional care and service. Relationships are at the core of this promise, and this training day supported staff members to solidify their sense of self and build a caring and inclusive team environment.
