Notice of Application for Approval to Expropriate Land

Expropriations Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. E.26

In the matter of an application by the Corporation of the County of Grey for approval to expropriate land being parts of Lots 20 and 21, Registered Plan 53, in the Municipality of West Grey, County of Grey for the purpose of reconstructing and improving the intersection of Grey Road 3 and Grey Road 4 and works ancillary thereto,

Notice is hereby given that application has been made for approval to expropriate the lands described as follows:

1. Part of Lot 21 Plan 53; Municipality of West Grey, County of Grey, being Part 2 on a draft plan of survey prepared by Dinsmore & England Ltd. dated May 29, 2022; and,
2. Part of Lot 20 Plan 53; Municipality of West Grey, County of Grey, being Part 3 on a draft plan of survey prepared by Dinsmore & England Ltd. dated May 29, 2022.

Any owner of lands in respect of which notice is given who desires a hearing into whether the taking of these lands is fair, sound and reasonably necessary in the achievement of the objectives of the expropriating authority shall so notify the approving authority in writing,

1. In the case of a registered owner, served personally or by registered mail, within thirty (30) days after the registered owner is served with the notice, or when the registered owner is served by publication, within thirty (30) days after the first publication of the notice; and,
2. In the case of an owner who is not a registered owner, within thirty (30) days after the first publication of the notice.

Plans showing the affected lands are available for review in the County Clerk’s Office, at the address below, during regular business hours.
