Obtaining an Ontario Works Cheque during the Potential Canada Post Strike

Due to the potential of a Canada Post Strike, Grey County residents who usually receive Ontario Works benefits in the mail will have to pick up their July 2016 cheques in person.

Residents are asked to contact 519-376-7112 ext. 1380 to arrange pick up of benefit cheques at their local Ontario Works office on June 30th.

If a resident has not made contact to arrange pick up at their local office, the cheque will be held at the Owen Sound Office 595 9th Avenue East Owen Sound and will be available there on June 30th, between 11:00 and 3:00.

When picking up benefit cheques, clients are asked to bring proper photo ID.

Clients are encouraged to contact their caseworker to arrange for Direct Bank Deposit.
