Paramedic Week Events Planned May 29 – June 1

May 28-June 3 is Paramedic Week across Ontario and Grey County Paramedic Services will be holding a series of events to give back to the community and raise awareness. The theme set by the Paramedic Chiefs for 2017 is ‘Always in Service.”

On Monday, May 29, Director of Paramedic Services Mike Muir and Community Paramedic Rick Trombley will be guests on Grey County Life on Rogers TV. The program begins at 11:00 a.m.

On Tuesday, May 30, Grey County Paramedic Services will be on location at Keady Market. A vehicle and equipment display will give market goers a chance to learn about the different services paramedics provide in the field.

Wednesday is the always emotional Second Chance Reunion Luncheon. At this event, a cardiac arrest survivor will be reunited with one of the paramedics who helped save his life. This year’s event will be made more special as three responding OPP Officers and a good quick-acting Good Samaritan will also be recognized.

On Thursday it will be “North vs. South” as Grey County Paramedics hosts two ‘Stuff the Ambulance’ food drives. The first event will take place at Grant’s Independent in Hanover.  The second event is at Bill’s Valu-Mart in Meaford. Both food drives run from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and are made possible through support from John Thompson Movers, Bayshore Broadcasting and OPSEU Local 250.
