Reel Roots Film Screening Series Launches at Grey Roots
Grey County - Grey Roots Museum & Archives is thrilled to announce the launch of Reel Roots, a new film series that brings classic and contemporary movies to the big screen at the Thomas Wheildon Theatre. The series kicks off Friday, April 11 at 2 p.m. with a special screening of Disney / Pixar’s WALL-E.
Reel Roots will showcase family-friendly films on Saturday afternoons and PA days throughout the school year. Films are selected to complement Grey Roots’ exhibits, seasonal events, and holidays. The upcoming screening of WALL-E aligns with Earth Day, highlighting the film's message of the importance of caring for our environment.
“We’re very pleased to introduce this family-friendly programming to the Thomas Wheildon Theatre,” says Zak Erb, Public Relations Coordinator for Grey Roots. “It’s a fantastic way to highlight the recent upgrades to the space, and we’re curating an exciting lineup of films for the months ahead.”
The theatre has recently undergone key upgrades, including a new projector, thanks to generous sponsorship from Thomas Wheildon, a long-term supporter of Grey Roots Museum & Archives. More theatre improvements are planned for the coming months.
Reel Roots screenings are free with a Grey Roots membership or included with regular admission for non-members. Learn more at greyroots.com/reel-roots.
