Respiratory Outbreak Declared on 1 South Home Area at Lee Manor

On February 11th, Public Health declared a respiratory outbreak on the 1 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently three residents experiencing respiratory symptoms, with test results pending. Symptomatic residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored. We are working with our Public Health partners and monitoring the situation.

As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place on the 3 North home area as we manage the respiratory outbreak. Enhanced measures are in place including the following:

  • Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits, and hand hygiene audits.
  • All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Home wide universal masking (surgical mask) is required for all staff and visitors.
  • Surgical masks or N95 masks are required when entering an isolation room.
    • PPE signage is posted at the resident’s room.
  • Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner (DCP).
  • General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on the 1 South and 3 North home areas.
