Respiratory Outbreak Declared Over on 1 South Home Area at Lee Manor

Public Health declared the respiratory outbreak over on the 1 South home area at Lee Manor.

We thank our team members for their unwavering dedication to the safety and well-being of our residents. Their prompt identification of symptoms and effective use of ongoing infection prevention and control measures prevented further spread. We also appreciate the support of our designated care partners and families. Additionally, we thank Grey Bruce Public Health for their guidance and support in managing the outbreak.

The safety and wellbeing of our residents, families, and staff is our focus. With various respiratory viruses circulating in the community, Lee Manor will continue with universal masking (surgical masks) at this time. As a reminder, please refrain from visiting the home if you are feeling unwell. If you require additional information, please contact the home at 519-376-4420.


On February 11th, Public Health declared a respiratory outbreak on the 1 South home area at Lee Manor. There are currently three residents experiencing respiratory symptoms, with test results pending. Symptomatic residents are isolating and receiving care. In an effort to prevent further spread, roommates and high-risk contacts are being closely monitored. We are working with our Public Health partners and monitoring the situation.

As a reminder, outbreak protocols remain in place on the 3 North home area as we manage the respiratory outbreak. Enhanced measures are in place including the following:

  • Increased surveillance, and enhanced infection prevention and control measures including audits, and hand hygiene audits.
  • All staff are following respiratory outbreak protocols and wearing the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Home wide universal masking (surgical mask) is required for all staff and visitors.
  • Surgical masks or N95 masks are required when entering an isolation room.
    • PPE signage is posted at the resident’s room.
  • Residents in isolation are limited to 1 Designated Care Partner (DCP).
  • General visitors are limited to 1 per resident on the 1 South and 3 North home areas.
