September 22 Meeting Highlights
Grey County Council met on September 22, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Council Chamber and virtually through Zoom. The meeting was immediately followed by a session of Committee of the Whole. Recordings of the meetings can be found on Grey County’s YouTube Channel.
County Council
- Council accepted the minutes of the September 8 County Council and Committee of the Whole meetings. Council Committee
- Council accepted the minutes of the July 22 Board of Health meeting. Dr. Ian Arra provided a verbal update, saying COVID-19 statistics locally are favourable. He also noted the first case of Influenza has been identified in our region. Minutes
- Council deferred a by-law which would have passed Official Plan Amendment 11 to the next Council meeting. Council has received several public comments since discussing the amendment at the previous meeting. Committee of the Whole
- Staff presented the Regional Electric Vehicle Charging Network Strategy. The strategy was developed in partnership with Huron, Bruce, Dufferin, Perth, and Wellington counties as well as the City of Guelph. The strategy recommends 17 locations for Level 3 Fast Charging stations in the region, including three in Grey County in the communities of Durham, Flesherton and Thornbury. The strategy also recommends contracting the installation and operation to a third-party provider to avoid high installation costs up front and to avoid long-term operation and maintenance costs.
