Successful ‘Stuff the Virtual Ambulance’ Holiday Food Drive for Grey County’s Paramedic Services and Hanover Grocer
This holiday season Grey County’s Paramedic Services and Grant’s Your Independent Grocer (YIG) in Hanover joined together in asking the public to help stuff a ‘virtual ambulance’ for their collaborative food drive. This year’s ‘Stuff The Virtual Ambulance’ Holiday Food Drive was in support of the local Hanover Salvation Army Food Bank.
Cashiers and Grant's YIG staff worked together to inform customers about the food drive between Friday, November 26 and Saturday, December 4, 2021. Results have been totalled and Grey County is pleased to share that $1200.00 in cash was collectively raised in support of the area’s local food bank.
Grey County’s Paramedic Services extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has generously supported their collaborative food drives over the years. A special thank you to Grant’s YIG staff and customers for their superb fund-raising abilities this season. Whether in-person or virtual, the ongoing community generosity to those in need - especially during the holiday season – continues to warm the hearts of everyone involved.
Grey’s ‘Stuff the Ambulance’ History
Grey County paramedics held the first ‘Stuff the Ambulance’ food drive in December 2010. Shifting to incorporate COVID-19 safety protocols, the food drives have since pivoted to be held in a virtual capacity and have since been renamed to accommodate this change i.e., ‘Stuff The Virtual Ambulance’. The local collaborative food drives have been made possible by the dedication of volunteers from Grey County Paramedic Services and many other community partners and businesses over the years.
