We are pleased to report that Grey Bruce Public Health has declared the COVID-19 Outbreak over on 1 South. We would like to thank Grey Bruce Public Health for their assistance in managing the outbreak. It has been a challenging time for residents, families, staff and the community as we managed and contained the COVID-19 outbreak. The tireless efforts of all have been remarkable, and I thank you for your dedication and commitment. The teamwork has been truly amazing.
Our focus continues to be the safety of our residents, families, and staff. Infection prevention and control measures remain in place. As a precaution, we will continue with the following protocols:
- Hand Hygiene Audits
- Cohorted small group programs (limited to 10)
- Daily Rapid Antigen Testing for all staff, students, support workers, volunteers and Designated Care Partners.
- Staff and Designated Care Partners will continue to wear N95 Masks and additional PPE as required.
- Designated Care Partners resume to two (2) DCPs per resident visit for 1 South.
- All general visits remain suspended
The 3 North Seasonal Coronavirus outbreak (seasonal cold) remains in outbreak protocols. Designated Care Partners are limited to one (1) DCP per resident visit. Symptomatic residents are isolating in their room and in room meal service is being provided.
Update: February 6, 2022
We have received the majority of resident and staff PCR test results from the February 4th testing, all returned negative, with 17 results pending. We have received information related to a staff member testing positive. Public Health is reviewing the case to determine if the staff case is linked to the outbreak.

- 2 active resident cases; 6 resolved
- 0 active staff cases connected to the outbreak (3 cases under review)
- Designated Care Partners are limited to one per resident per visit on the 1st Floor
Update: February 5, 2022
Thank you for your continued patience. We have received the remaining PCR test results from the February 1st testing and all results were negative. The resident and staff results from the February 4th testing are pending.
The current outbreak summary is as follows:
- 7 active resident cases; 1 resolved
- 0 active staff cases connected to the outbreak (2 cases under review)
- Designated Care Partners are limited to one per resident per visit on the 1st Floor
Update: February 4, 2022
We have not received any new resident or staff results since our last update. One resident result and the remaining staff results are still pending. Resident and staff PCR testing is being completed today, and will continue every three days during the outbreak.

Update: February 3, 2022
We have received resident results from the February 1st testing; all negative with one result pending. A number of staff results were also received from the February 1st and 2nd testing; all negative with 20 results pending. Our team at Lee Manor is connecting regularly with families of COVID positive residents to provide direct updates.

Update: February 2, 2022
Thank you for your continued patience. The team continues to work collaboratively to manage and contain the outbreak. We have not received any new resident or staff test results since our last report.
The current outbreak summary is as follows:

- 0 active staff cases connected to the outbreak (2 cases under review)
- Designated Care Partners are limited to one per resident per visit on the 1st Floor
Staffing remains at a stable level, thanks to the ongoing dedication of our caring Lee Manor team. We greatly appreciate the support, encouragement and kind words that our Designated Care Partners have shared with the team.
Update: February 1, 2022
We have received the remaining resident results from the January 29th testing; all negative. However, staff results received have identified two positive staff cases. Public Health is reviewing the two cases to determine if they are linked to the outbreak. Residents continue to be isolated to their rooms and we are closely monitoring each resident. The home received a number of portable HEPA filters from the Ministry of Long Term Care. Ten units have been strategically placed throughout the wing to maximize air quality.

Update: January 31, 2022
Thank you for your support as we continue to manage the outbreak. We have received a small amount of results from the January 29th testing; all returned negative with the majority still pending. Residents continue to be isolated to their rooms and we are closely monitoring each resident for symptoms as we provide care.

COVID-19 numbers remain high in the community, and we encourage everyone to get vaccinated and boosted as you are eligible. Also, don’t forget the 3 Ws: Wash your hands frequently; Watch your distance (ideally 6 feet); and, Wear masks correctly.

We have received confirmation of two additional cases of COVID-19 in residents on 1st Floor South. Residents on the floor are isolating in their rooms and we are closely monitoring each resident for symptoms as we provide care.

Updated: January 29, 2022
No new COVID-19 cases have been identified in the home today. The COVID-19 Outbreak remains active on the 1st Floor and we are now completing a second round of PCR tests for all staff and residents on the floor. Residents are isolating in their rooms and are receiving care and in-room meal service.

We will continue to provide daily updates throughout the COVID-19 outbreak.
Today, January 28, Public Health has declared a COVID-19 Outbreak on 1st South at Lee Manor. The home area has been operating in outbreak protocols since January 26th, with one resident confirmed positive for COVID-19. Immediately, all residents were isolated to their rooms as a precaution, and in room meal service was implemented.
ll residents and identified staff were PCR tested on January 26th. Test results received have confirmed 5 additional COVID-19 resident cases. In total, there are 6 active resident cases. 1 resident is symptomatic, and 5 residents are asymptomatic. Staff test results received to date, have returned negative. However, a new positive staff case is currently being reviewed to determine if it is related to the outbreak. Residents and staff will continue to be PCR tested every 3 days throughout the outbreak, as directed by Public Health.
Outbreak protocols and the following enhancements are in place to help manage the outbreaks:
- Enhanced infection prevention and control measures are in place.
- In-room dining service is being provided to residents of 1 South and 3 North.
- Staff and DCPs are wearing N95 masks and eye protection.
- Only 1 Designated Care Partner Visit at a time per resident for 1 South and 3 North. Additional PPE will be provided upon arrival.
- All general visits remain suspended.
