Youth Climate Action Fund Application Deadline Approaching on August 12
The Town of The Blue Mountains’ Youth Climate Action Fund application deadline is approaching on August 12, 2024. The Town and Grey County are encouraging youth from across the region to apply to this exciting opportunity.
Town of The Blue Mountains is proud to be one of 100 communities worldwide to receive $50,000 USD to distribute as microgrants of $1,500 to $6,000 CAD to fund youth-led climate initiatives.
Projects must be new initiatives led and implemented by youth between the ages of 15 and 24 and support The Blue Mountains Future Story, the Town’s sustainability plan or Going Green in Grey, Grey County’s Climate Action Plan. Projects can be implemented in any community within the traditional Territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation, which includes The Blue Mountains, Grey County, Southern Georgian Bay communities, Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation, Chippewas of Saugeen First Nation, Bruce County. Proposals require the support of an eligible sponsoring organization and projects completed and funds spent by December 31.
The Town is happy to answer questions, review and advise on project ideas and eligibility prior to August 12. Earlier submissions are encouraged.
Successful projects will be announced in late August.
